Your Facebook page is busy, but nobody finds you on Google? Here is why, and what a website and a Google Business Profile add.
Your Facebook page is doing well, but nobody finds you on Google
You have an active Facebook page. You post your photos, your prices and your new arrivals. Customers like, comment and message you. It took time to build, and it partly works.
Try a simple test. On your phone, type your trade and your city into Google. Do you show up? For many businesses that only have a Facebook page, the answer is no. The customer searching on Google ends up with someone else.
In this guide we explain why a Facebook page alone is not enough in Algeria, and what a website and a Google Business Profile add. You keep Facebook. We only fill in what is missing around it.
What a Facebook page does very well
Facebook is useful. In Algeria, many customers spend time on it every day. A well-kept page shows your products, lets you chat with people and keeps you in touch with those who already follow you.
The risk is putting everything on it. A Facebook page does part of the job. Here are the three gaps we see most often.
Gap #1: you are invisible on Google and Maps
When someone searches for a trade plus a city, for example "dentist Algiers" or "car parts Oran", Google mostly shows websites and Google Business Profiles. A Facebook page rarely makes it to the top of the results.
If you only have a Facebook page, that customer does not see you. They call a competitor who has a website and a Google profile, even if your product is better.
Google Maps works the same way. People search "near me" on their phones. Without a Google Business Profile you are not on the map, even for a customer two streets away. Our article on hyperlocal SEO shows how to get there.

Gap #2: you do not own your Facebook page
Your Facebook page lives on Facebook, under Facebook's rules. Those rules can change without anyone asking you. The reach of your posts can drop overnight (we explain the 2026 algorithm here). An account can be blocked by mistake, and getting years of posts back then becomes very hard.
With a website, the domain name is registered in your name and the content belongs to you. Nobody else decides to hide your storefront or close it.
A picture helps: a Facebook page is a stall in a mall where someone else sets the rules. A website is your own shop, with your name over the door.
Gap #3: a real website earns more trust
Before they buy or call, people check you out. They want to know you are serious. A clean, fast, clear website reassures them.
An address like yourbusiness.com looks more professional than a Facebook link. On your own site you can show your services in detail, your real reviews, your hours, your address and an easy way to reach you. It is all in one place, without other people's ads around you.
The fix: a website and Google Business, together
You don't have to give up Facebook. You are missing two pieces that work together.
First, a professional website: fast, clear on a phone and built to be found on Google. It is the base you own.
Second, an optimized Google Business Profile: this is what puts you on Google Maps and in local results, with your hours, phone number, photos and reviews. Creating one is free. Filled in properly, it brings in customers who are near you.

How your website, Google and Facebook help each other
Each tool has its own job:
- Your website is the base: you own it, and Google can read it easily.
- Your Google Business Profile puts you on the map and in "near me" searches.
- Your Facebook page keeps you close to your community and sends people to your website.
- Local SEO ties it all together so you move up in searches in your city.
What a good website looks like (and why speed matters)
A useful website does not need to be complicated. It needs to be well made:
- Fast: on mobile, many people leave a page that is slow to open, and Google takes speed into account.
- Clear on a phone: in Algeria, most visits come from mobile.
- Built for Google from the start, with solid search engine optimization (SEO).
- Honest and simple: your services, your prices or product ranges, your real reviews and an easy way to contact you.
Speed you can check
Here is a site we built in Algiers, Comfy Mattress. On Google PageSpeed it scores 100/100/100/100 on mobile, plus 3/3 on Agentic Browsing, PageSpeed's test for AI agents.
Whatever technology you choose, what counts is a fast, well-tuned site. A fast website helps your customers as much as your ranking. If you are torn between two approaches, our guide WordPress vs Next.js: which website to choose? compares them in plain words.

A real example in Algiers
Comfy Mattress sells mattresses, pillows and bedding in Algiers. Before working with us, the shop had no online presence at all: no website, no Google profile, no social media. People across the city were looking for a good mattress and never came across it.
We built its website and laid the groundwork for its Google Business Profile and social accounts. The shop now has a fast, credible storefront online, something its spot on a quiet street could not give it. You can see this project and others in our work in Algeria.
Where to start
You don't have to do it all in one day. Here is a simple order:
- Create or claim your Google Business Profile, then fill it in properly (it's free).
- Build a simple, fast, clear website registered in your name.
- Keep your Facebook page and add your website link to it.
- Work on your local SEO to move up in your city, month after month.
In short
A Facebook page is useful. On its own, though, it leaves you invisible on Google, dependent on another company's rules and less credible than a competitor with a website.
With a website you own, a well-set-up Google Business Profile and your Facebook page, customers can find you wherever they look: on Google, on Maps or on social media.

Frequently asked questions
Should I delete my Facebook page?
No, keep it. Facebook is still useful for talking with your community. We add a website and a Google Business Profile so people also find you on Google and Maps.
Is a Google Business Profile enough without a website?
It is a very good start, and it is free. But a profile on its own is limited: you don't control the page and you can't show everything. Adding a website makes you more credible and gives you room to explain what you do. Here is how to optimize your Google Business Profile.
How long does it take to get found on Google?
It depends on your competition. A Google Business Profile can show up fairly quickly once it is verified. For the website, SEO builds over several months of steady work, and nobody can promise you an exact date.
How much does a website cost in Algeria?
With us, a single-page site costs 34,900 DA and a Pro Showcase site 89,900 DA, paid once. Setting up your Google Business Profile costs 9,900 DA. All our prices are on our website pricing page.
I already have a website, but nobody finds me. What now?
That's common. Often the SEO is missing, the Google Business Profile isn't set up well, or the site is too slow. We can find what is holding it back with an SEO audit (26,900 DA) and give you a clear plan.
